Swiss photographer Gus Petro’s recent visit to the US left him trying to comprehend the deeply contrasting landscapes that characterize the country. Going from the the compacted feel of NYC to the vast openness of the Grand Canyon, he had a hard time believing that he was still in the same country. “One is so full and the other so empty,” Petro mused. Ingeniously channeling his disbelief, he created these visuals to convey his wonderment where he placed New York City’s skyline into the vast depths of the Grand Canyon for a futuristic metropolis straight out of a science fiction film.
